Memorial Day 2012
Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines
Today in the United States we honor veterans of today and generations past who have given their lives for our country. There is nothing deeper in my heart than taking care of our military families wherever they may be. In fact, I am currently out of the United States spending time with daughter, son-in-law and grandchild who serve our country proudly in the United Kingdom.
I am missing my annual downtown wreath laying ceremony and visit to our hometown veteran's memorial park. So I marched right over to a special spot here and paid my respects to these fine men. You can visit my previous years postings here and here.

What a lovely blog, you have and such a meaningful post for today! Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my post on the history of Memorial Day and taking the time to view my patriotic quilts that have been delivered to so many veterans! It is an important day to thank all those who serve our country so my gratitude to you and yours!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a nice post....I hopped over here after seeing your comment at SewCalGal's blog. Could you tell me (privately of course) what town you are in? I ask because my dad in law served in a small town in England, and I was trying to make out the bomber groups on that memorial....can't quite read it. Thanks for a wonderful Memorial Day thought and photo! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteVery special post Stacey. And, I agree with you about taking care of the military families too! It isn't just a soldier that serves, but their entire family.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo you took. What a wonderful way to honor those that served from this English group and for them to also include the supporting units from the US Army. Very special in deed.
