I thought I'd show two tops that I made for Alycia's No Soldier Forgotten Project. Along with my quilting bee, we made and donated 12 quilts. We had a great time making them this spring. She has the "Not So Top Secret" pattern on her blog. It's a fun and fast pattern. You can find it here at:

You can't go wrong growing these bright beauties. I just throw my seeds in my planting area and "viola" in about 2 weeks I have instant color. Every year I grow these bright orange and yellow cosmos in my front yard. The beauty is that they re-seed themselves. After they bloom, the flower heads have these little dried seeds which are so easy to collect. I just pinch them off and toss to the ground. Then they start all over again. They bloom all the way until fall. I collect the seeds by the baggie full.
This week it's getting that 4000th visitor. Tell your friends about my blog and store. Shop a bit in my store, share my blog in your blogs! If you are my 4000th visitor and leave a comment about my store, you will win this neat assortment of 7 bright Hoffman fat quarters and this embroidered cat by Loralie Designs.
Don't forget to leave your comment!! Thanks and Happy Quilting!!

Wow! I just got home last night from a wonderful trip to Boston, MA. I have never been that far north. Remember that these bones are mine are originally from Southern California and then relocated to North Carolina 16 years ago. There is so much history up North (and in the South for that matter). I truly had a great time. The weather was absolutely terrific too. Since is it already hot and humid down here, it was a pleasure to be in 62 degree weather. I didn't get a chance to visit any quilt shops though. Boo Hoo.
Here is a shout-out to all of our wonderful troops supporting our country. May you all be safe, know that I truly am grateful for all the hard work and sacrifices that you and your families make for us to keep our freedom. Thanks for all you do.
